Kandy is Sri Lanka's cultural capital and the second largest city, nestled among low hills and circled by the Mahaweli River. Kandy is the country's religious and cultural hub, as well as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
What to Expect
First, as a nice diversion from the city, we'll take a stroll through the royal botanical garden, which has more than 2000 different varieties of plants and trees.
After lunch, we will be visiting the Temple of the Tooth Relic, also known as the Sri Dalada Maligawa, which is supposed to hold the Buddha's tooth and is considered one of the holiest shrines in the Buddhist world. The complex's architecture, golden ceiling, and wall paintings are breathtaking. The day will conclude with a magnificent cultural dance performance and a quick visit to the view point for a beautiful view of the city.
